University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, is a NAAC 'A' Grade accredited private university established in 2003 under the UPES Act by the State Legislature of Uttarakhand. Recognised by UGC and approved by AICTE, UPES has grown into one of India's foremost specialised universities in engineering, management, law, and design.
UPES is widely recognised for its industry-focused specialisations such as B.Tech in Applied Petroleum Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and MBA in Oil, Gas & Analytics. The university operates across two campuses in Dehradun — Energy Acres and Kandoli — and houses 11 dedicated schools.
